Ionit Technologies, Inc. develops and manufactures advanced digital video systems used for security, surveillance, safety and process control purposes. Founded in 1998 and based in Chicago, Illinois, Ionit continues to focus on developing products and services that utilize its advanced high performance digital video compression algorithms.
Ionit, from its inception, has maintained its leadership position in developing video codecs and digital video recording solutions. Ionit does all of its compression calculations on the latest Digital Signal Processors (DSP). This affords numerous advantages, including reduced bandwidth consumption, substantially less storage usage, and excess processor capacity to comfortably run third party applications i.e. video analytics, business intelligence.

Greater compression translates into smaller video file sizes meaning that Ionit can store exponentially more data, on the same size hard drive, than its competitors. In practical terms, while others utilize more and more hard drives and thus additional points of failure to capture video on motion, Ionit is able to guarantee customers 30 days of continuous recording on 16 cameras at 640x480 resolution, at up to 15 images per second, per camera on a 250 gigabyte hard drive. Several Ionit models can record at 30ips/480 global ips. RAID configurations are available for those requiring this feature.
